Walking up Air

Mark and Sally were walking down the street - well, actually, their names weren't Mark and Sally, they were Simon and Jessica, and they weren't walking so much as sauntering - down the street - actually, it wasn't a Street so much as an Avenue - when they suddenly realized they were being followed. Well, the realization wasn't actually all that sudden, it was more of a gradual realization and they were actually wrong, they weren't being followed. Let's start again, shall we?

Simon and Jessica were sauntering down the avenue when they gradually realized that they weren't being followed. This simple fact was so minor that both of them stopped dead, and fell over. Well, they didn't actually stop dead. They just kind of stopped relatively quickly. They actually did not then proceed to fall over, though Simon did sway on the spot for a few seconds. They, in fact, looked at each other and burst out laughing. Well, they didn't actually burst out laughing, they just smiled at each other sincerely, and they weren't on a street or an avenue anyway, they were actually in the middle of a densely treed area, also known as a forest, somewhere in the mountains, sounds of bears and rashes from poison ivy abundant.

So. Simon and Jessica were crashing through the underbrush of the bear- and poison ivy-filled forest, when they stopped, look at each other, smiled, and then promptly scampered up the nearest tree, since a very large and very hungry bear was chasing them. Sadly for Simon and Jessica, bears can climb trees. Which is why it's a darned good thing that a bear wasn't chasing them, now isn't it? They actually didn't scamper up a tree simply because there weren't any, and there rarely are any trees at all 500km up in the sky. Too bad their parachutes opened.
